my postman has just taken his freelander 1 1998 diesel there, they offered him 125 pounds, he did not take it, i will have it for spares if he sells it at that kind of money. had a engine in this year, few window faults and ignition switch a bit iffy but runs fine,

They are well known crooks, also try the welsh car supermarkets for a cash deal and they will throw you out

I wouldn't even bother with them, unless you absolutely need to shift it. I used them to get rid of my ford focus when I got a company car, they paid off the finance that was left on it, but it was worth more than that but I needed to get rid.

I would imagine you could get more for parts and scrap than £125 quid.

I put one of mine on there for a laugh and when their offer came back it included the money I'd get back for surrendering the tax but then they wanted a £75 fee for something. Total robbing b******s. Another company making money out of those who have none and are desperate.

They never actually give you the price they offer on line either. When you turn up to do the deal they deduct money for all sorts of things like small scratches etc.

Keep away unless you have no other option.

Stick on on ebay mate :). Someone will but it as a green lane toy - the early doozles are solid motors :).

Scrap is at £150+ a tonne, we buy any car would probably take it straight round the scrappy for quick beer money. My mate took a mint BMW 330ci to them, they quoted him £9000 for it, he had the wheels refurbished and all dings and paint marks sorted weeks before & they tried to knock him down £2000 for "body damage". He told them where to stick it. It was low mileage and 100% straight & solid. He traded it against his next motor eventually and got £9500 for it. Lesson learnt! Stay away from them.
You'd get £150+ for the engine alone out of a gaylander.

The point of We Buy Any Car is that they make money by selling cars. They dont want an old freelander taking up valuable space on a forecourt and they can not be hassled with potential warrenty claims from anyone who might buy it, so they offer a pittance to discourage you from selling to them. They want family hatchbacks and executive saloons that are only a few years old - stuff that is popular and easy to sell on.

Older Freelanders are worth more £ sold as parts, rather than the value of the whole car.

But to it's owner, a Freelander is priceless.

Mind you there must be some pretty desperate people out there. My local Kia dealer has got a '59 plate Disco in their part exchange compound. You've got to wonder what they bought.

"We buy any car" only really want nearly new stuff to pack out their car supermarket.
Old stuff gets taken to auction and ultimately finds its way into the hands of a small independant used car dealer. At BCA auction houses they sell under the name "CC trade".

They offered me £340 for my BMW E36 M3 which has 76,000 miles on clock, full service history, all old MOT's and over £5000 worth of reciepts for modifications and i am NOT kidding you when i say this... it is MINT!!!!!!!!!!! I even have the reciept from when i got the whole car fully resprayed last year!!!!! so explain that? and that IS an easy car to shift!!!!! the 2 badges sell themself 'BMW' 'M3'

REALISTICALLY they target chavs with **** cars that they can buy for nothing and fix for nothing then sell for 2 times what they have had to dish out!!! and sadly the reason they target them is because 90% of the scum are taking drugs and drinking and its quick money for them to get there highs!!!!! I had a friend who worked for WeBuyAnyCar and he told me exactly the type of people he came face to face with :(
