Anyone had any experience of these places? In particular the one in Rochester Kent. Just wondered how thorough they were compare to others?

Have you got a link to this one in Rochester?
My advise is always the same, for the money you will pay someone else to do it you can buy a small compressor, wax applicator gun and some wax, then next year for a touch up it will cost you one tin of wax and it will need touching up every year no matter what they say, but use Ankor Wax by Morris lubricants, way way better than waxoyl.
Ankor wax is on ebay special offer 29.99 5 litres delivered which is a tenner cheaper than normal.
This is the wax gun, Ive had mine for well over 10 years and its been used by me and every bugger! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-Ai...885?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e7df5e53d
Ive always remembered that place beforeandafter and the huge post a few years back where he had waxed up some forum members disco and the poor thing fell apart from rust a year or two later! charges a fortune as well, for what is essentially 20 litres of wax.

It's just the "official" Waxoyl treatment centre in my area.

Before n After did my 110 and to be fair it has lasted well over the 5 years since it was done. I suspect though that they were treating a well cared for chasis in the first place. I guess the question is whether you took a truck that was f####d would they treat it anyway? The answer to that we will probably never know. I like the idea of doing it myself but I'm not sure I'm experienced enough for the job. :(

I asked as I to live in Kent and work on the medway estate and was curious where they were based?
It really is a simple job, Ive got to do my series 2 in the next few weeks assuming it ever stops raining, I will be doing it at work on the flat outside the workshop, Pm me some contact details and when I do it you can come along for a look see.
1 hour once a year keeps the thing well coated

Ive just had a reply after asking them for a quote, over 400 quid?
Now in my mind thats a whole shed load of money and then some.

I bought the same gun as Lynall linked, very good piece of kit, personally i wouldnt put my trust in anyone else doing as thorough a job and i know how well mine is now protected, kurusted, 6 coats of hammerite and then 25 litres of waxoyl inside n out, mixed with extra thinners when i did inside the chassis so it misted into every nook n crannie. i had the advantage that i had stripped the landy to a bare chassis though so was also able to drill the top rail every 30cm for good access and then plug holes with dinitrol plugs to make reapplication a doddle....

bit of a messy job but at least you will know just how well it is protected and as said you will have the kit to keep on top of it in future

cheers steve
