water leak from core plug 300 tdi

Hello,
My disco 1 300 tdi has a leaking core plug, its the one in the middle right behind the turbo.Had a search on here found a few bits on it, i have ordered a set of 3 plugs. Looks straight forward, as to the turbo is it a case of unding the 2 oil pipes and take it off complete with mainfold? i also see that a drop of lock tight around each plug is needed, is this right?
