water in footwell, heater o rings?

I think the heater o-rings have gone but the bulk of information seems to relate to range rovers, are the replacement procedures the same ? My car is a 94 300 tdi.

are you sure it is coolant and not just water?

discos have a tendancy to leak through the windscreen and sunroofs into the footwells.

yes its coolant, had to put about 2 litres in a day to keep it topped up while on hols in Scarborough.

if you look behind the dash from the drivers footwell you should be able to see the matrix and pipework running through the bulkhead which could help you source the leak.

iirc to replace the matrix then it is a dash out job but to keep you going for now there are threads on here explaining how to bypass the heater and should stop it leaking into the footwells until you have the time.
