Disco 2 Water in Diesel sensor - fitted to all TD5s ?

Just looking at buying a new fuel filter for my 53 plate TD5 auto and noticed mine does not have a senor fitted to the bottom of the current Bosch filter. Was the water sensor fitted to all Discovery 2 TD5s or just the earlier ones ? Or has mine been "modified" ? I can't see any wiring tucked away anywhere, and there's just a drain plug on the end of the filter.

sensor isnt fitted to all td5s,thought discos generally had but i cant say ive took much notice as theres only one filter fitted

Have seen the sensor on both a 53 and 04 plate D2 td5.
Have you checked your sensor wires are not cut or the sensor connector is not pushed up out of the way?

I believe that the water sensor caused a few problems in a number of cases in the past which sometimes resulted in frustrated owners just disconnecting it and cutting the wires back out of the way.

No sensor on mine.

Thanks for the replies, I'll have another hunt for the cable but it sounds like it has probably been disconnected and stowed away. I won't worry about it and just concentrate on the air in pump problem.
