Water getting in, any ideas?

I had a couple of leaks that seem to come from the forefront of the footwells, armed with a hose I found that it was coming in from both bulkhead vent seals.

Easy job and new pair cost about £11!

Well a weekend spent filling putty behine the door seal again... waiting...watching the drips come in then re-filling again... so far so good, not sure I can shut the door properly dur to the amount of putty now, but hey we are getting there! might have actually solved it now...time will tell

OK, so we had rather a lot of rain yesterday....
Well not surprisingly when I got to the car it was wet inside again...just don't get it, I must be putting the putty /silicone in the wrong place, I still have water dripping in from the top corner of the door next to the windscreen, it seems to drip over the rubber seal and then down the door, doesn't matter if the car is standing still or moving. No apprent whole in the windscreen seal, and no hole in the roof or gutter.
Did wonder if it was coming in from the load lamp at the back and running down along the cable...but I can find no hole for the water to get in where the lamp attaches
Maybe the roof is just full of water....

I get a puddle in the driver side footwell of my 90 after heavy rain. Mine's only 5 years old and I can see no sign of where the water's getting in. Given that you've given so much attention to the door seal, I might suggest that this is not necessarily the main cause of your problem. Maybe it's coming in from different places?

I would agree, that is certainly where it is ending up, but the source is as elusive as Stratstone dealer when you come in to complain!

Two birds one stone...stay dry in Landie, and look like a superhero at the same time albeit a rather portly one!
