Visteon 6 cd changer and Harmon kardon.

Hi people.
Has anyone successfully taken out a visteon 6cd changer
with harmon kardon speaker system and slotted in a
single din aftermarket head unit and actually got it working
Mines a 53 plate premium sport td4 3 door face lift.

I'm looking to keep the Harmon Kardon and replace the Becker unit with possibly a Kenwood 1 DIN DAB+ Bluetooth head unit. Not planning on removing everything.....Yet.

The 1 or 2 DIN position is crap for built in Sat Nav on my facelift FL1 HSE , so have bought a Tom Tom after having been using a factory installed unit in my Yeti which was brilliant.

I have heard of people taking out becker sat nav and replacing with an aftermarket head unit
With no probs even with the harmon kardon set up.
I've also heard of taking out visteon 6 cd player with standard set up with no probs
. Give it a bash and let me know.
I've got a facia and leads but gonna hold onto um for a while hoping someone will help me.
I don't fancy doing a full rewiring job just to get an mp3 player.

I just need to source a suitable lead that just plugs into the new unit and to the Freelander wiring. It is no harder than that.

I have found one, I just need to order it and chose a head unit that I can read with my driving glasses on.

Not sure if I'm going 1 or 2 DIN at the moment.

Then all I have to do is install it, or get my local car audio specialist to fit it for me.

Ive had mp3 player head units for about 12 years and dont want to get stuck with cds in this day and age. .

I have a 1 DIN Kenwood BT/DAB head unit fitted now. The Becker one was removed.

My subwoofer I have discovered isn't working and neither is the o/s rear door large speaker.

The subwoofer has died. So has been removed. The rear door needs the card taking off and finding out the reason why it isn't working. It could also be dead.

Having found steering wheel controls for it all, I thought I had bookmarked the page, but I can't find it. So at the moment my steering wheel controls don't work.

Yes, you'll have to buy an adaptor, normally at an exorbitant cost....

I know, but I can't find anybody who makes one at the moment. Have you found one?

Then you choose a patch lead for your new head unit.

I have now ordered these.

These have arrived and I have fitted them.

Great.

My audio controls now work.
