Viberation fl2v

My FL2 2009 20,000 mls has a viberation problem. This feels like engine viberation via the seats. The dealership have had two attempts to fix it. They have changed the torque converter and rear disc plates. They are now stumped and claiming its a CHARACTERISTIC of this model. 36,000 pounds for a viberator is somewhat expensive. Any idears lads?

Ask them to demonstrate the problem to you on another similar model.

If its a characteristic of the vehicle. Then you should be able to get into any of their courtesy car FL2's and be able to reproduce the issue.



Saying that. There is an 'ongoing concern' with resonation throughout the car caused by the new autogearbox shift strategy. There is another thread on here discussing it if you search for it.

If its that same concern of resonation through the car, more prominent when driving up hills in 6th gear. Then it is a new characteristic of the vehicle. Land Rover are currently saying this concern is as good as its going to get.

Things might change or you could have a different issue though.

Yes I am having a test drive in a similar model. I am collecting my FL2 from the dealership today and will request a full report in writing.

I collected my FL2 today. The dealership are unable to find any reason for the viberation.They are reporting back to Landrover and asking for one of their people to drive it. The service manger drove it and stated it seems to viberate in all gears at about 1500 revs. I will post more information when I get the results. Many thanks for your replys lads.

Normal landrover response with an FR2. Every fault mine had was responded with yeah its a characteristic ! They dont have a clue. dont get shafted

Can i ask if your vehicles only started with this symptom of a characteristic after a dealer visit? Possibly after diagnostic work or recall action?

Land Rover moved the goal posts again and said they would not authorize any more warranty work until I drove a simular vehicle. The dealership supplied a one year old 32,000 mls. with a greater viberation problem than my FL2. What are they trying to prove? I now await the next hoop Land Rover want me to jump through.
In responce to Vissie question, my vehicle started this problem at about 15,000 mls. I purchased it from the dealership Barretts Canterbury with about 8,000 mls. It was one of their own vehicles. No work was carried out on it, the viberation just started

my auto doesn't suffer any vibration and if it did I would thrown it back at LR long time ago. On The Feel2.com forum there are some who have suffered this annoying vibration and eventually had a change of vehicle.
It sounds like your L/r dealer is taking the P***
I would suggest you select the vehicle you wish to road test.

See if they have an earlier FL2 than yours. As far as im aware, this is a concern dealing with the later automatics. In the 10MY range?

Have you had new tyres or changed a tyre after a flat or something. I have a vibration on my FL1 which only started after a tyre change. Just a thought???

After the viberation started I was told it could be caused by uneven tyre wear. I therefor replaced all four tyres with new ones. It had an instant effect on my wallet but the viberation remained.
