For ebay "ringers" only:

PLEASE KEEP EMAILS BRIEF AND TO THE POINT AND PROVIDE BOTH A URL AND EBAY ITEM NUMBER.

It would be helpful if you see a suspicious vehicle on ebay to post it here [in stolen land rovers section] and mention if you have reported it to AVCIS so that multiple reports of same vehicle dont occur.

This is the most direct effective way of shutting down these bastards and making things difficult for them and hopefully reducing thefts/ringing.

.
:D

[ Might be an idea to make this a stucky? ]

Wow. Congratulations. You got a lot further than i did with trying to find this kind of thing out :) Thank you :)

AVCIS have advised there's another email address we can use to report suspect sales of LR vehicles/parts etc.

Their rural crime team seem to be the guys that are dealing with the Landy thefts. Just suspicions relating to vehicles on this address please :)

The 'intel@etc' address can still be used in conjunction with this new one.

Good idea But I have a funny feeling that like most police matters they are Value based targets. and will prob concentrate on high value motors.

Just e-mailed them details of V5 and chassis plate for a 1971 Landy, sold on Ebay. Seller suggested chassis could be collected in a dustpan. No doubt it will end up on a stolen Landy.

Great forum subject. Sadly, I like another person recently, have to report the theft of a green "M" reg Defender 300 tdi from Clumber Park in Notts, during the evening/night of Friday 14th December. It had just been serviced and had new tyres !
Best distinguishing features are the nearly new soft top and new exmoor covers. They had to break the steering lock and immobilisor to steel it, so it seems like it was pre arranged. I will keep my eye on e bay. Any info welcome. Alan

Good luck dealing with them, I tried reporting 'odd' activity of an ebay seller earlier this year, only sold Puma doors and bonnets and never any other landy parts at all, I originally rang the force where the seller lived to be told that as I didn't live in the area that I would have to contact my local wasters, I eventually found out about this team who looked at it for day or 2 then responded that as it wasn't my vehicle that they couldn't look at it and didn't think that the activity was odd... strange
