6 weeks! Heard feint noise soon as they were fitted, lasted no more than 600 miles and were noisier than originals. Brit Part are using the cheapest bearings possible. The mounting seems ok but the bearings def not.

Had a second look at originals and decided to buy decent bearings to fit to original mountings. 2 SKF bearings cost as much as Brit Part complete assemblies. Staight forward job to do and seems to be ok so far, 2000+ miles covered.

:)

hi

Where do you recommend buying your bearings from?

thanks
Any seller who sells original GKN bearings like island 4x4, lrseries or main dealers. They're more expensive but will pay off in the future. Some vcu reconditioners try to be clever and swop over the bearings with cheaper brands only to get caught out. It's easier buying the bearing fitted in a new mount. Part numbers over ere:

The rule of thumb is:

If it's not GKN you'll change them again.

Agreed. I got a pair of GKN bearings in their holders for £90 off ebay a few months ago which wasn't too bad- but a lot more than the £50 a pair I bought for my older Freelander's GKNs about 3 years ago!!
