Hi All,
I seem to be having a problem with my '84 range rover. It has a Rover
V8 engine,
twin carbs but it is running badly. It seems to be misfiring on more
than one
cylinder and it also backfires when I rev it. I have changed the Spark
Plug gaps
to 0.30in, replaced the Distributor cap, rotor arm, HT leads. I have
also
replaced the Fuel filter but can't seem to get it to run right.
Can anybody point me in the right direction to see what could be
wrong. Also the order of the ht leads seems to be wrong in the haynes
manual.
Standing at the front of the engine the order was
8 7
6 5
4 3
2 1
Front
In the haynes book this is
7 8
6 5
4 3
2 1
Front
Also the order on the disitributor cap is wrong in the manual as well.
I have
put it to how it was before I started playing.
Does anybody have the correct order and how to determine where the
starting position is on
the disitributor cap to get the correct order?
I'm learning lots already, I just need more guidance.
Any help would be very much appreciated,
Thanks,
