V8 manual r380 gear stick diameter?

Hi

With out breaking a sweat and taking the gear knob off, does anybody please know the diameter of the shaft on a D2 v8 manual, think it's got the r380 box? Looking to change the gear knob to wood(ish) one off fleabay, thanks in advance.

M12 or M10 is what it looks like, I CBA going to the shed and looking but I know its somewhere in that region

Thanks guys, as said I going to have to get dirty, any ideas how it take the knob off (this is all sounding rather rude...), tried twisting it, bit of side to side movement, but no give, is it like the girlfriend's saab, once it's on it's on for life and I ended up useing a hack saw to cut it off

Land rover manual gearknobs are all screw on but many can be bastard tight, just keep twisting and she'll come, so to speak.

if it still wont come, try big persuader (hammer) and hit it down it may split off if your not keeping it
