V8 lpg

I have a Disco 11 which is run on LPG, tick over is fine but when cruising or with the foot down it sounds as though its missing. We have now sorted out all the vacuum pipes it has new plugs and we are lead to believe good quality ht leads. Anybody out there got any ideas, please

How does it run when on petrol?My v8 used to run bad when on lpg,i put new leads on it and it solved the miss fire and it ran smooth,have a look under the bonnet when its dark and see if you can see the leads arking.

Possible coil pack on the way out, mine went like that ok at idle & crusing but not when you revved it or put your foot down..
Traced fault using some in line testers, soon as you revved the spark went weak on cyl 3

Hi, Runs perfect on petrol... lpg 30 seconds then starts to fumble and sounds like its missing or lack of gas. It still accelerates but rough... switch back to petrol nice and smooth.

check solenoids on the tanks/lpg line.

When was the last time the LPG was serviced - it needs doing every 12 months.

Not sure if it will help but I was told that as the LPG ECU takes it's settings from the main ECU, it pays every now and then to do a 100 miles or so on petrol.

Thanks for the replies, will look at everything this weekend. It does run on petrol every so often. Will look at plugs, leads etc and see if its them. If not its to go to the Lpg SME in Edinburgh next week. Ran on lpg yesterday fine at 30 mph but any more and you could feel it was rough.

Hi fett, Sme ( stenhouse motors ) are the lpg people in Edinburgh. I am a wildlife and scenic photographer. Just managed to sort out a jeep on lpg and it was running great then it got written off!!!
