Hi All,

I have a RRC 4.2 v8 LSE running very rich on fuel. I think one reason could be the wrong fuel map applied by the ECU due to the wrong reading from the tune resistor (blue resistor 1800 ohm for my v8 4.2)

Im using the rovergauge (https://code.google.com/p/rovergauge/) to check my engine fault codes and other electronic components.

Could one of you who use rovergauge send me a printscreen what you get for your 4.2 LSE? (I get a fuel map where 4F is in 3rd row at 900RPM)

if I remove the tune resistor (I get a faul code) and get a fuel map where 3rd line at 900 RMP is 5E (attached printscreen, same fuelmap as the original screen on the rovergauge webpage)

I know you can measure the tune resistor ohm by the 5th and 27th connector resistance on the ECU cable, but I dont have a multimeter at hand.

thanks in advance.

Why start a new Thread. Your same enquiry was on Novemeber 7th to which I replied:

Default Re: Range Rover Classic 4.2 LSE (21) Tune Resistor out of range
If you have cats then Blue is correct (but its 1800ohms) the White one is 3900ohms!

Blue 1800ohms with cats fitted for Gulf States 3.9 or EU and UK 4.2

The White one is 3900ohms with cats fitted for EU & UK 3.9 (or 3.5 Disco)
Red is 180ohms no-cats fitted Australian 3.9
Green is 470ohms no-cats fitted Europe and 3.9 (3.5 Disco)
Yellow is 910 no-cats fitted Gulf States 3.9 or EU & UK 4.2

To check your existing resister - disconnect the ECU plug and measure the resistance between pins 5 and 27

I also indicated that your AirFlow meter may be the problem, easy to check with a mulimeter. No reply from you just a new thread with your new knowledge!!! If you can't be bothered to get hold of a multimeter from November 7th then I'm out a here.

I have read your other post thanks, have checked the MAF it works just fine (replaced with another working item and the result is the same), resistor also works, got hold of a multimeter today.

starting as this request is about a fuel map printscreen from rovergauge not about the resistor itself (resistor is just added to have a history who hasnt read the other post). If you have admin access and you feel right please merge the 2 topics, I dont mind.

if you have printscreen from rouvergouse for 4.2 v8 please send it on.

cheers
A
