Hi All,

Mock up engine in, manifolds, Oh cock, they don't fit!!!!!!

If you've done a V8 conversion can you let me know what exhaust manifolds did you use....

Thanks

Max

3.5 manifolds fit ok. I've got 3.9s and I had to raise the engine to get the nearside one to clear the chassis. Other people have just raise the nearside engine mount so twisting the engine over.

Alright mate,

been a while since I have been on here, still having trouble with manifolds? Im in the same boat really, I have left doing the manifolds for the time being tho. I have got the original cast ones to fit, I know they are pants but it will get it road worthy for the time being.
I have tried to get the ss range rover sport manifolds to fit, now depending on if you have modded you bulkhead yet you ( may ) be able to make these fit with a few changes. tho I havent yet seen it done. The reason I couldnt is because i had already mounted and painted my bulkhead after using TVR exhasts as a template.

OK so my conclusions to this is, I will need a custom set of manifolds........ yes i know £££££... but, one of the biggest performance improvements to this engine is in the design of the the manifols and exhaust system. so for the time being im saving the pennies and getting on with the rest of my build.

few pics.

cast manifolds in place, its tight....

Cheers

Hello Buddy!

I got some Block huggers modelled on a Yank manifold - they fit SWEET!!!!!

I'll some photos and post - Oh check out pictures of engine on my profile page.....
...I'll also stick you Stage 3 heads with roller rockers photo's in the next couple of days.

In mean time I've finished bulk head and got in rear Stage 1 axle. ...

...Nearly there now - mind you I've been told DIY or death....

Oh - tuning is mostly in inlet and heads till about 220 - if you match and port cast heads - do a search for G33 rover V8 tuning

Awesome..... i'll be interested to see those manifolds...... :)

so finising date set yet then? you going to get it put up on a rolling road once it is done?

keep you the good work, Im guna have a quick looks through some of your pics

take it easy

Ryan
