v8 90

I have a 1984 diesel lan rover 90 running a lt77 gearbox. i also have a rover v8 engine awaiting fitment to the 90. i am trying to find out whether my lt77 gearbox in the 90 will fit the v8 with just a bell housing swap. does anyone know this or is it more difficult than that.

I believe that the original V8 models had the Santana gearbox fitted as it was stronger than Landrovers own box. May pay you to enquire further.

I have since found out that the lt77 box does fit. i have been told there are two different versions of it being that the layshaft is different between the diesel and v8. now doing some research i think i only need to swap the bell housing. someone out there must be able to help me!!!!

plus am in need of a rover v8 manual fly wheel.

I think the V8 gearbox has a longer input shaft.If there is a easy way to change this I would like to know.I am fitting a Nissan SD33 TD and I need a V8 gearbox.Good luck.
