I've got a new crank position sensor.Crank position sensor is common, also check the coolant temp with diag as the sensor can fault to 140c and stop the motor running..

it definitely unscrewed but i never tried it, maybe someone modified itI tried to unscrew it, just a blank on mine could of been different on yours,

Yes my replacement one is a genuine Bosch. Not a chinese-ium Knock off.My money is on the crank sensor..

It's the sticky up thing at the rear, pointing towards the bulkhead

yes on mine you can't do anything with it, it's a blank.The big silver sticky out bit?
CPS most likely, if in doubt pulling a plug or 2 will be far quicker than pulling the upper intake off..

***Update*** still won't start - I now have access to a nanocom for a D2 V8 - does anyone have a step by step guide of what I should be looking for going through the nanocom options. When plugged in it keeps coming up with an intermittent error - issues connecting to ECU. Any help would be appreciated as the wife has said if its not fixed soon- scrap it. I also have a paired ecu and bcu with eka code from a donor car.

Got a Nanocom to borrow, no fault codes in engine or gearbox. Still won't start.

are you getting a spark at the plug? are you getting fuel? (is the plug wet?)
