I was having a chin wag with the original owner of the car - and mentioned she'd been relegated to weekend warrior - he wanted to buy her back and I agreed! Sad to see her go - it's been more reliable than I expected and a real hoot to drive over the 50ishK miles I put on the odometer. I love Range Rovers and will own another - I simply refuse to buy the BMW one - I will never buy anything to do with BMW after what they did to Rover. So I guess until L405s reach sensible money I'll be driving boring cars! Thanks to everyone that's given me a hand over the years - this forum is ace!

I'll still keep an eye on the forum to keep my interest up! :D

Stick around bud.....the Green Oval addiction is very strong....

Oh there's no doubt about that - nothing has the ambiance of a Range Rover - I'd buy another P38 in a heartbeat - but they are just getting too old for me now. I can't risk an unreliable car. As I've said i won't buy a L322 on principle - I'm lucky enough to able to afford a L405 but I've got plenty of other expensive hobbies and don't see the value in spending that much on a car - when I was younger and more impulsive I would have probably bought one but my head rules my heart these days! :D

I wouldn't be surprised if I end up buying my own P38 back when the old owner gets bored of it again. I only sold it because I've got too much on my plate at the moment and can do without having multiple vehicles to run.

Sorry to hear your relationship "broke down" (see what I did?) you'll miss it keep in touch.

To be fair to the old girl I only had one break down (low oil pressure) and even then I limped home! The oil pump was worn - it was a surprisingly reliable car but I could feel lots of jobs coming up - just getting a bit tired and in need of a refresh and I just haven't got time to muck around!

Thanks for all your help and ideas, i have attached a little memento for you, the new owner said this was the best way to keep it reliable :)

Fair enough, you wouldn't want to be stuck again, Steve. See what I did there? No, still not funny, is it?!
