Hi guys

It's been a while.

I've read the sticky so I know what I can put on.

I'm back to sorting out tyres.

I know the standard sizes are 205 80 16 or 235 70 16.

As per my last thread can we forget the new option at the mo.

Two choices that I have ...

4 x 235/70R16 GOODYEAR WRANGLER S4 for 80 quid ... 5mm tread. These will be fitted to my steel modulars.

5 x 205/80R16 fitted on Land Rover alloys to a Disco at my local scrappers. I'm sorry I didn't note the make but they are off road style and 2 are virtually brand new and the other 2 still very good. All 4 on car same make. The spare is also on the same alloy and is new but a different make. I can go and find out what makes. He wants 200 for the set incl. 5 alloys.

I don't go offroading as such but my hobbies see me driving over turf areas all year.

I'm sort of tempted to coff out for the alloys ( although it's not a posing car ffs ... it's a M reg Disco used for carrying dogs and equipment ).

I read an old thread that had a comment from BigLad and I think he was saying that he thought the 205s were a little narrow for the Disco.

Abuse away chaps ...

get the wrangler if you are looking for cheap tyres. the scrappy is trying to have your eyes out.

disco alloys are worth around £10 each scrap value and you could get a set of brand new all terrain 205/80/r16 tyres for under £150. There was a guy at billing struggling to shift that size at £20 each for used tyres.
