Freelander sport 2004 - 235/50/18 tyres - need replacing soon and I've had the offer of some 235/55/18 tyres nearly new - question is will these fit without problems? I know it's only another 5mm, but will they rub against anything or cause incorrect speedo readings?
Will most likely try em anyway, but just wondered if anyone could advise in advance of anything I should be aware of.

at 70mph you'll have about a 2-3 mph increase on what you were doing before. chances are you'll still be in spec

i have 225/65/17's and they dont rub at all. no risk of ripping your wheel arch out.

for future refrence, compaired to your existing size

i get bored at work

Hi,

My freelander currently has 17/255/55 - if going off road would i be better to replace with a larger profile?

Any advice would be appreciated !

ffs yer ****!
he's gonna have to swap wheels and tyres. yer can just bung bigger profile tyres on and hope they will clear the body work.
specially if yer going orf road. so that would mean getting a set of 16" or possible even 15" wheels with tyres to fit. then he'll be wanting steel wheels fer orf road, so if he has alloys he'll need steel wheel nuts. then unless he's gonna drive there and back on his super bouncey tyres he'll need room to carry the spare ones.

and in the end for what?
get a 90 or a series fer orf roading and keep the gaylander fer going to tescos
