Bought five Boost alloys yesterday and now need some tyres. Thought about taking the existing tyres off the steel wheels but it's a bit of hassle/expense and I would like to keep them in case I sell the 110 at a later date.

So, looking online - new tyres are expensive, used tyres could be knackered with remoulds looking like a happy medium. Not badly priced but I'm not sure what they are like. Any advice?

By the way, I'm looking for something like a 50/50 tyre that can be used on road and off...

Thanks
Brian.

I went through the same dilemma

Bought some boosts then set about looking for used tyres, by the time you've factored post in the decent once on eBay make close to 70% of new price so unless they're local it's not worth it

The problem with used tyres is they can look fine but be about to blow or 10 years old so I went for new

4 runway enduro 265/75/16 AT ,£400 fitted from an independent local tyre place £36 cheaper than black circles

If they stick to the road as good as they did to each other in the car on the way home they'll be fantastic

I ordered 5 Nexen Roadian MT tyres today, got them for £102 each with valves, balancing and fitting and including Vat. Not sure if they are any good or not but they were £45 cheaper than the BF Goodrich tyres I was looking at...

Looks better with them wheels :)
Get some more pics up. Wouldn't mind seeing it now you've soft toped it :D

I like the exhaust idea, did you make that yourself or is it something off the shelf?

I know this 90 so I might as well answer :p
It was on it before I had it so I don't know myself.
But at a guess a local exhaust place made it, Not your usual bodged up bends welded together. Just all bent up in one piece.

It's great with the soft top on, I'm only deaf in one ear

It's just a straight through pipe, TBH I don't know if I can live with it, I might look at putting a silencer in it

Their price delivered for the tyres I bought is £370.76 then you've got to get them fitted which( if you can find somebody to do ) it I'd think would be £10+ vat a tyre

I paid £400 all in fitted and balanced at a local independent tyre dealer, plus if I have a problem I have somewhere to go back to

Warrington Tyres - Next Day Fitting From Jeffreys High Performance Tyres | FALKEN

I can see buying tyres off the internet and getting them fitted separately being a problem if one of them fails

Some years ago a mate of mine thought he'd save some money by buying a combi boiler and getting somebody to fit it

When it packed up the boiler manufacturer blamed the installer and the installer said it was a boiler fault, because he hadn't supplied it they went round in circles until he ended up paying him to fix it

I can vouch for the Enduro MT tyres being pretty good, not noisy, grips the road well and lasting well, had mine 12 months and very little sign of wear. The only downside (not the tyres themselves) was when I had them fitted I specifically asked the fitter to keep the Enduro logos on the inside. He fitted them with the logo on the outside  So had to take them off and turn the tyres as requested, but damaged one of my alloys in the process (probably on purpose).

I'm not sure I like the white lettering on my new tyres, as I was called a Chav yesterday! Before & after photos below...
