Considering buying a full new set of tyres. Currently fitted are 195/80/r15...would it be possible to fit 215/75/r15's?

Slightly wider tread - rolling circumference is almost identical (I've checked a tyre size calculater).

Not really knowing too much about tyre/alloy sizing but I think I need to check the J size printed on the inside of the alloy (which refers to the alloy width in inches) - from there I believe there is must be some kind of acceptable tyre width range that is compatible - is that right? How can I find out (google is not very forthcoming in this instance)?

Or maybe just easier to stick with what seems like the standard size tyre???

Cheers.

You will have no problems with changing to 215/75 15s

If your wheel size is 5.5J there should be no issues at all.

Even if it's 5J it's still within the allowed parameters.

You can find all info on the tyre manufactures websites.

I use the latest Continental Databook as it gives tyre dimensional data and rim recommendations for just about every type and size of tyre - even ones Conti don't make.

I'm sure Michelin, Goodyear etc do the same.
