I failed mot on a tyre and brake pipe. Tyre my own fault for not getting it checked beforehand. I have found a part worn, bit has a different speed rating. Current has V rating, the part worn has Y rating. I know that got have same profile, width, etc across an axel but noy sure on speed rating. Please help as i go away tomorrow so got let my mate know, and drop cash round his in morning on my way

V is rated at 149 mph ... Y is 186mph

Used to do tyres day in day out different speed ratings across the axle has never in my experience caused a problem so long as the tread pattern is the same or similar (both directional, assymetrical or standard pattern across the axle otherwise it can cause problems in the wet) and that the brand is comparable (dont put a budget on the same axle as a leading named brand otherwise can cause pulling similar to incorrect alignment)

If they are the same tyre on a different speed rating in my experience I have never heard of anyone having problems
