Hi,

Checked out some of the threads on here for snorkels and didn't find a sealant name I can find in Halfords or Wicks etc, I'm fitting mine this weekend so I need to get some. I wondered if I should use any black silicon? Or is there something else which is the actual stuff to use, on previous posts there were comments that black silicon would crack up quickly.

I was thinking of something like http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/227949

I'm also going to seal one of my sunroof drain tube boxes this is leaking as well, can I use the same stuff or do something else.

This for the sunroof, used it on one of my buildings and it seems good http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/214518

Best 2 kinds are loctight RTV and sikaflex 221
Sikaflex is black very strong stuff used for gluing bus windows in lol
Locktight RTV is grey and doesn't get effected from water oil fuel antifreeze great stuff

try CT1 from local builders merchants. Just like rubber, sticks like s::t and altho you wont need too it can be used under water. Now thats the sh:t im talking about. Very much like sikoflex.

I was thinking of something like Geocel Trademate Roofers Mate Black 310ml - Sealants - Tools, Electrical & Plumbing - Wickes

Tigerseal, sikaflex and polyurethane are all the same, they are all PU based, that is to say polyurethane based. Flexable and waterproof, just what you need. The only real difference is the price, I have used them all building kit cars. The screw fix one feels a little less smooth than the branded ones but does the same job. If you want a smooth line to join/glue two parts together then I suggest using masking tape on each part before applying the PU. Then spit into one hand, and use the other to smooth the PU to acheive a good finish. Remove the masking tape as soon as done.
