Hi fellas ;hear goes. wot is the T. boost spos'd to be on 200tdi?mine read 0.7 up hill . so thought ill short'n the rod a tad on the vacum thing'y don that now reads 0.8pulls better to .The prob is ther int much left on the rod to short'n and if ido is dar.n right inpossible to hook it over the waste gate lever .I don't want to mess much mind just get it wright. All this on a92 ex camel 200tdi any ideas??

the fact that you have only took it up one 0.1 bar and you dont have much left on the actuator rod seems suspect! i have had mine upto 1.2 bar and back down to 1.0 yet had loads left on the thread, you sure it aint loosing boost somwhere and its already been wound up? seems unlikley as its on the standard boost as it was. mine was a disco 200tdi though but dont think there is any difference.

He's not strong enough to pull the rod out of the capsule far enough to make it reach the stud on the waste gate lever.

All wright then Charslesy tomorow morning all have me Weetabix and have another go all setlle for 0.9 if poss then messure how many threads are left on the act.rod and let you know. Is just that i am a little woried i might snap the stud of the waste ate lever.

nah, i have wound mine a fair bit, just pull it back over, oh and test your boost pressure under load, i.e 4th gear and accelerate up an inlcine till you hit peak, the proper way of knowing what boost there is going into the inlet is to tap a bleed nipple onto the the inlet manifold where you will see a redundant bolt sticking out, take you measurment off there as your probably loosing boost from where you are taking it from (presuming its the small black hose at the turbo).

Remember the turbo boost is enough pressure to blow up tyres, and that you may need to apply a force of 30 - 40 pounds to heave the waste-gate rod far enough out of the capsule so the other end reaches far enough that it slips over the stud on the waste-gate lever.

Just proceed carefully, one small step at a time, and my advice is to do NOTHING to adjust boost unless and until you have a boost gauge fitted.

Thanks charlesY looking at all your threads one can tell you know what your on about.Yes ihave a boost gauge on an [Auto Meter] i shorte'nd the act.rod so now i get a09 to about 1 bar reading even on the flat if i floor it i think i am happy at that it goes better .As it has been dead relaible old truck so far appart from it's landrovery [dreepsquickleaks] i think illgo play and get it dirty now.Oh yes ihave 7 threads left on the act.rod i just thought ill mention it..

does sound short compared to mine yet only reading .9 bar, you checked the condition of the whole system? leaks blockages etc etc

read the pressure at different places throughout the system, charles would be better at letting you know where if he's about?
