Ok with the edc I felt i needed more. So to get more out of it I first checked that the lump could Handel it so off to a dyno test found out it had lost 23bhp. So it was de-cat, de-EGR, itg air filter, clean and polish inlet manifold, clean intercooler and all pipes, polish inlet and exhaust ports in the head and add snorkel so as to get cleaner air after that it was back to the dyno to see what it has done gave 130bhp feels good with the extra power I would not do more as there is no point and due to cost to get more you would
need a chip and bigger intercooler.

From the little research I have done, to get the edc pump chipped you have to remove the pump, remove the edc housing,

then send the housing away so they can remove the chip, reprogram it and then send it back to you. you then have to rebuild the pump and re-install.

The 300 tdi cannot be programed via the diag socket or have a chip plugged in to the socket.

if anyone knows differant i would be very interested.

also not many places do this type of chipping.

If anyone knows of a place in the south west can youn post in this thread

cheers

You are sort of right but it Is only the ECU that needs to go and get chipped. twisted performance do it after that I have no idea.

Not tuned it yet... but i have a friend who is a mod on that forum and he has a friend who owns a tuning company and has a chipped programmed for a 300tdi and in the past has done several.

Its a couple of hundred quid to do it all properly but he says it makes a huge difference... when driven properly it can increase mpg as you need less throttle to get it going...

Its on my list to do!!

I am interested, if you could post details or pm me some info i would appriciate it.

Just out of curiosity has any one thought that if you up the power you may need to upgrade other parts like dampersand springs for and brakes for stopping. Just if you are looking for more get up and go you may want to think about safety that go's with it.

a 300 tdi can already drive at the max allowd in the uk, i want to get there a bit faster. That will not need any mods to help me stop.

Well I say this because their are those out there that will not think like that. As for getting there a bit quicker there is a reason the V8 has bigger antiroll bars and vented discs and harder shocks with some of the mods that can be done you are looking at getting about the same bhp out of a Tdi as the V8 that puts out about 158bhp give or take a bit

My bad sorry the v8 I had had was the older 3.5 that put out 163bhp not 158 and had vented discs and dule imput lines to the front callipers for the bigger pistons. Unless it had some mods before I had it.
