So the deed was done my beloved p38 which has been with me for 9 years is gone and is replaced with a 2007 s/c now running on winter tyres must say it is a pleasure to drive and am getting 10 mpg across the board so more than happy:D:D

It drives really well and will sort some pics out she is Buckingham Blue with sand interior full service history 2 months of extended warranty left and not a mark on the body work as it had a 500 quid valet with clay bar the works - well happy

10mpg, 20 mpg - who cares? Buy a Toyota Yaris if you're worried about fuel consumption!

Buying a large SUV and then complaining about fuel consumption annoys me even more than people who move to a hot country and then complain about the heat.

Yes but there's a difference between 9MPG or 25 MPG that I get

I wanted a large 4x4
And I got one that is pretty good on fuel in my opinion

Sorry everyone a revision here was meant to be 20 mpg have done just under 800 miles this week and getting 20.1 mpg across the board even I might get peed off at 10 mpg

I rarely managed to get 20mpg out of my XJR (same engine) unless I was on a slow cruise. Fuel management must be getting better on later engines!

PS my old XJ12 did used to genuinely return 8mpg!
