While going down the motorway this week in the out side lane, I touched the brakes as there was a queue ahead. When I went to accelerate again I lost all drive as the transfer box has slipped into neutral. This has only happened once before when I was breaking coming off a motorway on a slip road. I have been told that an 8mm nut might need adjusting on top. Does anyone know if this can be done easily an how.

Also been playing with the transfer box since this happened and have a few questions
1. when in high should the diff lock light come on when pushed to the left (as it does not at the moment)
2. can low range be engaged without the diff lock as the light comes on whether it is pushed towards the left or right in low range.

diff lock is totally seperate frpm hi/lo even though it uses the same lever diff lock can be selected whether hi/lo or neutral is selected ,if linkage isnt set so that it full goes into hi or lo there is a 8mm nut (13mm spanner) that can be adjusted near were the linkage attaches to t/box ,diff lock light should only come on when lever pushed to the left ,switch just has 12v feed and switch earths it so could be faulty switch or live wire shorting,or even box stuck in diff lock ,you can check by jacking one front wheel up it should turn if not in diff lock and wont turn if its is ,if you change switch dont wind it in further than needed for light to work as it will jam diff lock selector and stop it working if wound in fully ,on rh rear top side of t/box is a 6mm grub screw tightening it make detent stronger ,but again if wound in too far will stop hi/lo selection
