Hi,

Got one of these fitted on my '95 V8 but no information or paperwork came with it.

First question is - Is there any way I can find out which type/model is fitted? I have searched everywhere for some sign or badge - nothing. I just guessed when I got my insurance(bloke didn't seem to care much anyway as long as it was Toad).

2. I've got a spare fob that came with it but when I went to use it the other day for the first time discovered it's dead. I guess it's just a case of a new battery and I can just crack it open and put in a new one or will it need some kind of syncing with the other one.

3. Also got this weird looking item(see photos) on the key ring that looks like a sawn off bullet. Anyone know what it's for? There is a shallow socket type thing fitted on side of the console that looks like it could have this thing placed in it. I'm guessing some kind of override or reset?

Any help/info much appreciated.

Cheers

hi, on my last car i had one of those bullet type things. what it did was turn the alarm off. did`nt effect the central locking though. just hold it so the end bit with the rings touches the pins. repeat the process to turn the alarm back on.

Hi and thanks. I haven't really had a chance to play with it since I got it but at least I now have a rough idea of what to expect. I did try it not long after getting the disco but nothing seemed to happen so kind of ingored it.

after a fuse blow out on my old golf the fob needed to be reset and all i had to do is hold the button on the fob down for about half a min next to the car and it synced with the car. it was a while back and it vw, but it could be worth a try if you cant get it to work when you put a new battery in.
