Rev, Did you buy that crap off ebay like me and find it dont work for philips radios??..
only £1.35 but a bleeding liberty all the same.. covers 99% of radio's my arse.

No I didnt, my son managed to find someone to give him the code for his Rover (philips) stereo for free but cant get him to find codes for mine!

try this, I havent, so let us all know if it works....

I know they are phillips units, but any idea what model?

I just got hold of some radio cracking software, I dont really want to take mine out of the dash but if you can give me a model number I will see what I can do...

cos i DID take me radio outa dash...was goin smash the fecking thing up then reason kicked in...

the base code represents what sort of eprom chip the radio uses... a bit like the chip on your credit card.

need to find out now what software is in that chip that translates the serial to the code. I got some phillips software now but it's not relavent to that chipset.

still none the wiser but will keep lookin ...

there a forum, but darent go on, probly end up orderin a container load of potato pickers

is there a port on the back of the stereo where you could plug in a data connector?

most of the software are serial no calculators, on the head unit there is a long serial number and all you need is the last four numbers and press calculate,(ie clarion) but it depends on what make and model you have obviously, some might ask for the bar code, usually the bottom bar code number, and some makes you will have to open the unit up and find the pin connections or have to buy expensive tools to be able to dump the file and replace them with new ones, but most of the software you get from fleabay etc are for older cars and and some dont even apply to land rovers etc . you can even find the exact software that you buy on fleabay on many torrent download sites for free. believe me i hate paying for the code but in the end sometimes it is quicker.
