Hi guys,

After recently aquiring a petrol series 2a, I've noticed that I have to push the throttle down quite alot before it actually moves the throttle control on the carburettor. Having a look at the carburettor end, it looks like the carurettor bell crank lever has too much of of a gap in it for the carburettor relay lever. Is there any way this can be adjusted, or is it normal?

And the clutch seems very very stiff, almost as hard as the brake pedal, is this normal?

Thanks guys. :)

The hydraulic clutch on a landy is quite heavy on the foot. The resistance to movement should be the same all through the pedal travel and it should return rapidly - you should be able to push the pedal all the way to the floor (unlike the brake which should give steadily increasing resistance with pedal travel). Reasons for stiffness could include pedal pivot needing lubrication, master or slave cylinder sticking or seized clutch operating mechanism. I'm used to the simpler S3 clutch mechanism but I'm sure a series 2 owner will be along to offer help. The throttle as above.

Throttle all adjusted with no play at all.

The clutch springs back well enough, so it could be alright, but im going to get my dad to check it.

Thats another job ticked off my list, plenty more to go.

All the best, Jacob.
