The Mysterious Pop Up Fuel Filter !!!

Afternoon all. Was performing the famous EGR Mod today (with great success I hasten to add!), and as I was inserting the bolts I look up to see a fuel filter staring at me!! Obviously the hose on the inlet side has hardened and broken off, but I can't find anything to mate it up with. I've located a pipe on the rear of the engine (as per photo) and wondered if this is where it should be connected to?

Any info would be much appreciated as I'm under incredible pressure here. Not with the Land Rover, but the Wife wants me to drive her to the mother in laws and I'm refusing to budge until the riddle is solved !!!!!

thats the turbo vent filter bud its supposed to just hang there hope this helps

Yes thanks for that. I spent an hour looking at filter kits on Ebay and found "Turbo Vent Filter" on the list. Bit of further research on here and happy days. Well not really, off the the mother in laws now, but at least it'll test the EGR mod !!!!

good look with that

they are supposed to hang down but I have lifted mine up like that so if I go through deep water or puddles it will not get sucked into it

Not sure hanging down is much of an idea. New set of filters arrived this afternoon so I'll find somewhere to stash it when I've swapped it over!!

Hi, the second pic is the IRD breather pipe and is right as it is.

Have you changed the crankcase breather filter to the bmw mod ?

Next weekend. I bought a complete filter set off Ebay, and the modified breather was part of it.
