Oh yes he is.

I'm Steve, 60 years old, retired, and am a twice Land Rover owner.

I bought both of my Landies from new, and here is the story behind them both.

1980 Land Rover Series lll 2.25 Straight 4:

Bought in winter 1980, kept it going until 1993 when the transmission blew and I put it in my garage, where it still is, covered up.

1995 Land Rover Discovery 2.5 Straight 4 300TDi:

Bought in summer 1995 to replace the Series lll and it is still going now with 52,000 miles on the clock. I only normally drive it in winter months (November-February/March) then put it in the garage during the year.

This year I thought of buying a brand new Defender, but my Disco is still in such good condition with so little millage that I decided against it.

As for the Series lll, I don't know what I'll be doing with that. As I said, it needs a new transmission, but apart from that it is pretty much in mint condition.

I'll maybe fix it up some time, but who knows. Would it be worth much with a new tranny ?
