just wondered if this would also be of interest , where we’ve added / or plan to add some accessories to our discos

Will start it off with some window vents I’ve just bought , example pictures as they’ve not turned up yet

Also been looking at some front window air deflectors

Hmm, restrict the view a bit, but she'll love the wind deflectors!
Why do you need these things in the rear windows? Buffeting? Ventilation? No sunroof? So you can lock it up in a dodgy neighbourhood? Would still have to lock it with the key.

For the dog so she’s got some fresh air and don’t have to worry about having an open window in the back , particularly whilst sitting in Traffic

Indeed , Would never ever leave my dog in a car

Sounds a good list , have got a Waeco heat/cool box which I keep meaning to put in the boot , luckily there’s a power socket there

Those soft A bars look good, know on the D3 there bloody expensive

Look forward seeing some more piccies when u collect it

For the dog so she’s got some fresh air and don’t have to worry about having an open window in the back , particularly whilst sitting in Traffic

Indeed , Would never ever leave my dog in a car

We travel constantly with three dogs in the car, they are always harnessed in and on the back seat, as per the law now, but we always did it anyway. Sometimes we open the rear windows a bit, sometimes we put the aircon on. But the dogs prefer to smell the air they are driving through, unless it is stop-start and full of traffic fumes, that's when we really use the aircon, and when it gets hot as it does driving to the south-west of France where we are now. They can't jump out so we don't worry about having them open. Never known a dog try to jump out even.
There are times when we leave the dogs in the car, as for instance overnight in the car ferry. But we ensure there is adequate ventilation, water etc. It is never even warm, on the car or lorry deck, if it was we would have to find another way to travel, but we always go in the spring or autumn and overnight. Been travelling with them ever since pet passports were invented, never had a problem.
Elsewhere we only take them when we know we can take them out once we have stopped. You may well find that with the air-con, you'll only need the rear windows open if you have the fronts open to stop buffeting.
Also, we put sun blinds on the dog's windows to shade them as we are driving along. They are on rollers so they roll up and down as we open and close the windows. Would like new ones but cannot seem to find them any more.
Have fun with the new machine.

Didn’t realise it was law ref the harness , indeed same as ur goodself I always have my lab secured in the back seat

Thing is ur a responsible dog owner , many out there haven’t got a clue , was even in the news a few days ago about someone leaving a dog in there hot car

Seen those blinds and must admit never been sure how effective they are

Alas my ac isn’t currently working , imagine it will be a good few months until I can find the leak, fit a new condensor and get it back up and running , so also thought those vents would be even more useful more in this weather

My late bichon was terrible for trying to get out the window , had to put the child locks on and disable the windows from the drivers controls because she would either press the window switch , or as she jumped up rested her paw on the door handle and thought she’ll open that in a minute

Yeah it is worth all dog-owning car owners reading up a bit on the law about driving with dogs/pets in the car. https://www.directline.com/pet-cover/travelling-with-your-dog

Our dogs regularly lock the doors for us! Bit of a pain as it tends to happen just as we are getting them out, my way of dealing with it is to keep the plip with me and use it over and over again while pulling on the door handle, usually works. Course you can always get in another door, but you don't want to have another door open in case they jump out of that one just as you are trying to get a lead on them though the first one! We have three Cockers and they get so excited.
Remember reading about the bloke who left three dogs in his car totally misreading the weather and all of them died. Upset him terribly trying to do CPR on the one that was still alive. He got sentenced to 2 years suspended, a large fine and he cannot own another dog for 10 years. Terrible thing to happen to three animals. Even heard of a police dog handler losing two dogs in his police van, you'd a thought he'd a known better.
Doesn't bear thinking about.

The harness I got are the ones u plug into the seat belts

Indeed will be a lot happier getting the AC back up and running , will sort the condensor and find the leak myself then get a professional AC company to refill it and add the correct amount of PAG oil

Will do a vacuum and pressure test , yeh i know ref the nitrogen, lol , my air compressor has a decent dryer on it so will just put a few psi in then bubble test everywhere then after pull a vacuum to remove the moisture the best I can

Bought a set of the HDVP O rings so will replace all the ones I can get to, also got stainless steel bolts for the joints as some of the old bolts don’t look to good, so when I separate the joints can fit new O rings and bolts

Have also been looking around for dog ramps, can drop the suspension but as she gets older don’t want her straining her joints too much getting in and out , there not exactly low

Wondered about folding the rear middle seat down and making a sliding ramp out the boot, put the tailgate down so she can get through the middle seat and in and out the back then , at least with the tailgate up she can’t jump out until I lower it, just got to work out how to design it , maybe some sliders on some plywood and cover the plywood with some rubber anti slip matting , some of the ramps that are telescopic and work are over £100 , so think I should be able to make something tailor made , thinking cap on , lol

Wow that’s so sad ref that guy loosing 3 x dogs , what on Earth goes through peoples heads are beyond me

There was a baby also I believe left in a hot car, baby was ok but bloody hell WTF

I just keep mine topped up using the kit I bought from Halfrauds. Gun and gauge, green bottle of gas that also contains leak sealant. Comes with the correct amount of oil in. Dead easy to use. Only need to buy replacement bottles and I think they give the gas cheaper when you return the bottle.
Our dogs are light enough to lift out, otherwise we let them jump to the floor of the car and then use the side step. But once they get old and arthritic, we'll lift them. agree about the ramps, have seen them advertised, but a simple plank covered in non-slip material should do it.

I don't have pets but these vents would be great for camping out/sleeping in the back of the Disco. They can be installed to let air in and keep out bugs.

My add for my Disco is lock boxes inside the rear storage bins. Sort of like the cubby safe WILD4X4 makes...
