It was all fine when i switched it off last night. Anybody got any ideas??

Mark, iirc yours is an EDC car? so it will be electrical. Check and clean all plugs and sockets ie throttle pot, crank sensor, MAF etc.

Hi Big Lad, glad you're about, you helped me with the throttle pot problem earlier this year. yep it is EDC, already swapped the MAF last night with the spare i bought when i thought that was my problem in Feb, and disconnected the throttle pot and cleaned all the plug connections. just the crank sensor left to do.

just weird that it was fine on the night but 'light on' before i'd even turned the engine over the following morning! still used it to get to work but it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding at the moment, is that limp home mode?

Bit the bullet and booked it in for Rovacom diagnostic, need it to get me to work and back so £35 seems well worth it, i'll keep you all informed!

Latest update, the guy who did the diagnostic said, 'good news and bad news'....... good news is its the timing sensor on No 4 injector (ERR3337 i'm told, with the other three being ERR3339), bad news is you cant get them...... he was right! tried everywhere but either discontinued and no stock or never stocked in the first place!!! Now in the process of emailing anyone breaking disco's on ebay to see if they are auto with EDC and if they will sell me the injector!!

He says he can probably modify the injection pump to work with the 'duff' injector. but just found a guy on ebay with a set off a 168k mile vehicle so they need a once over before fitting, he says i will need to use my own sensor wire and that it just 'slots in' can anyone confirm this to be the case ..........

This just gets worse!!! the guy on ebay sold the injectors to someone else and now NOBODY will split an engine and sell me the injectors.......... i'm getting desperate!! can anyone help?? I can't believe that everyone with a Disco 1 with EDC can be so vulnerable like this...

Q for those that know more than I - can yu remove EDC on a Disco?

this would imply that you can - [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUXHxXUdB3U"]YouTube - ‪EDC Removal Instructions - Bosch VP44 VP37 VP30 Diesel Pumps‬‏[/nomedia]

Mark,
Have you still got the problem ?
I had the same issue with the injector only mine took a long while to finally fail.
I found a guy on E bay who breaks Disco's and who was quite happy to sell me a S/H injector with sensor for the same price as a normal one. With postage it came to no more than £25. Just needed a clean when it arrived. Sorted the problem straight away.
PM me if you want me to send the details of the guy i used.
Don't bother buying the crank sensor, it's impossible to fit the bloody thing and it won't be your problem anyway!

Hi Davee, yep still got the problem.... i've phoned everyone breaking disco's on ebay ove 30 different people over the last couple of weeks and nobody has one, or will split a good engine, the details of your guy would be great, i'll PM you and get them
