Since a few weeks I'm owner of a 2005 Freelbee td4.
Now i've read that some have outsite temperature indication.
Is this an option, or can this be activated.
At my car ther is en a pin to operate this funktion.

Hi,

As far as I'm aware there is no way to display it on a Freelander 1.

But, I have fitted an external temp gauge to mine in place of the clock.

See my thread, starting at post number 18:http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/my-2006-td4-auto-hse-238696-2.html

Like that but I'm not confident with cutting the wires etc.gona get something as I also miss the temp just don't fancy wires running from the lighter though so have to see whats about

No wires cut anywhere.

I did cut the sides of the clock trim though. I figured I could buy another trim if required.

You can buy piggy back fuses which I have done now to make everything much simpler.

I also miss having a external temp gauge in the freelander , just got a cheepo off fieabay for now , and I will have to put up with the wires for the winter :D

I have just been looking at those after reading this thread.
Now got to measure my original clock and see if I can find one that will replace it, or failing that cover it up :D
Either way I'm going to hardwire it and if it has a backlight make it work with the sidelights as it should do.

My one lights up all the time. Not a problem. Finding a green one was a problem.

This is how I get power to the gauge:

Then just plug the 12V plug into it, tape it up so it doesn't fall out.

The fuse holder hold 2 fuses, one for the fuse I removed and the top one for the device I am fitting. The eye just gets screwed to a convenient bolt or screw that is mounted to the metalwork.

Simples. :)
