Help
Just fitted a genuine TD5 rev counter to a 2001 TD5 90
I've got the signal from pin 19 off the black plug on the ecu which runs in the loom up to the dash that's were I picked up the signal from
I've created the loom for the dials and fitted the rev counter but it seems to be a slow not as responsive as it should be is there something I can do to sort this out
Can anyone help
Thanks

Its the same with my VDO one aswell. i got it from croytec :nospamhere: Im rather unimpressed with John from croytec though. 3 emails ive sent now and not got a reply

I was wondering if the dip switches on the back were not set correctly.

Anyway sounds like yours was a little easier to install than mine. Mines an early (99) and dosent have pin 19 in it so i had to run the wire down the bulkhead over transfer box and into the seat box and Soldered it into the ECU loom.

As soon as i get a reply from Croytec ill post back with the details.

Does anyone know what the conector in the back of the ecu plug is called and could i get from Maplins ?

dude that dosent make sense! well not to me anyway.

Do you mean, what is the connector called? or what type of pin is it?

You can buy the connector for your ECU loom but only as a PCB mount, so it will have a soldered connection at the rear at 90 degrees. Pretty sure thee only available in male form aswell!

Im not sure about the pins, best bet is to PM Daft, he can get them. And his company makes the extended ECU looms for a very reasonable cost(compared to other companies)

Yu can get male & female connectors, but one is only available in Pcb's mount. Pm me with a description of exactly what you want & I will see what I can do.

the correct gauge wire, the sealing rings, the correct crimp tool and the blanking plug removal tool.

Correct wire (speaker wire);) and it works as been driving today with said wire jammed in hole 19:)

Seal ring (was going to use the gray gromet/plug that was in the hole;)

Crimping tool ( hammer)

blanking plug removel tool (small screw driver pushed through from the other side):D
