Been using the thread for information for ages, thought about time I registered and put something back!

I've got the Highline Alpine system in the TD5 and wanted to integrate an iPod but keep the existing head unit. Looked around and settled on the Connect2 unit, about £80 on eBay. Works a treat replacing the CD changer, function control from the head unit a bit limited but I can do more as I learn how to use it. Big bonus is the steering wheel controls still work. iPod lives in the glovebox, with more time I'd put it in the central cubby but that's a job for another day. There is just enough room to get the Connect box behind the head unit.

Then on to the Parrot, a 3100. I'd read that this would be a problem because of the separate amp. If you plug it in as they suggest, the phone is way too loud as its output is going through the amp. If you break into the 'out' wires of the front speakers from the amp and join the Parrot leads there, volume is normal and the Parrot has muted the head signal when the phone is in use. Plenty of room under the dash in front of the driver for all the wiring and two boxes it comes with. A fiddly job but works a treat.

Hope that helps someone!
