Now owned the TD5 for just over a month and still very happy with it; pulls like a train; about 30mpg; and despite having ACE, EGR, and Cat seems to be behaving. I hope it all lasts till Spring when, as advised by our senior members, I will rectify at least the last two.
Unfortunately a recent slow speed collision with a post has done minor damage to the front bumper. Anyone got advice on repair or replacement?

Also I would like to know what folk recommend for underbody care, especially the ACE system

Thanks,

Pat

depends how bad they can be plastic welded and or filled
as for the under body care treat the pipes to stop the rusting they are megga bucks and have a good look around the chassis also early ones are just starting to need welding

Thanks Martin,

I did wonder about plastic welding (although I had not heard much about it since my motorcycling days) and it is only a small crunch.

I will check the Underbody. Is waxoyl the right stuff or are there other preparations? Years ago I had access to raw lanolin and used to dissolve it in xylene to winterise the chrome on motorbikes, it didn't look pretty but, come the spring, a quick wipe down with solvent and back to pristine chrome.

Bugger,
Sorry to hear that. It does make you mad. I may patch/tape mine till Spring (everything seems twice as bad at this time of year) but will report if a mate of mine comes back regarding 'his' mate who does plastic welding.

Waxoyl it is then!
