i am after a mobile phone kit that interfaces with the stereo and connects to the phone via bluetooth.
my previous car was a renault and i had a very good one fitted at halfords.
unfortunately they tell me that as the 2003 td5 is multiplex they cannot touch it.

anyone got expeience of this or ideas.

i thought that was the case as it certainly does not look like any sort of multiplex stereo system i have seen.
shall go back today and have another go.
this time i shall try and pick out the one that looks like they might know what they are talking about.
the lady on the till perhaps :)

halfords computer says yeeeeees !

spotty boy thought i had a posh series 3 or a harman kardon big bass, mass tweeter, hugh sub woofer thingy.

looking at end of next week for the fit.
bluetooth connection to mobile with stereo mute fitted for £69.

bargain since they were £129 2 years ago

Yep, gonna get me one fitted too, have one on the other car and is an excellent piece of kit, although some stores seem to be out of stock. I'll try the store in Bracknell first, then radiate outwards if no luck there...... That £69 only covers fitting at the store.

I have a cd/stereo with a built in bluetooth kit, nothing fancy as a karmon harden or whatever its called, but its been in 3 cars, is superb, plays the phone through the car speakers, and hasnt let me down. Quality is superb too.

Mine is made by Nikkai and i think i paid 50 quid for the stereo brand new off Ebay.
Oh, also has flip down front panel which also removes, and a rather cool blue neon equaliser display on the whole front whilst mooooosic is playing.

got mine fitted on friday after a search of the stock.
halfords are stopping selling it for a more up market and more expensive version. be quick as £69 is a bargin.

a word of advice if your radio is a landrover one with the cassette deck and single holes for removing it from the dash. you need a 2.5mm alan key and not push in wire rods. me and the fitter found this out after 45 mins.

there is no room behind the radio for the main box so get them to tie wrap it to the vertical metal bar inside the large flap area underneath the steering wheel.
the loom fits nicely then from the radio area via a gap behind the drivers side centre air vent to the main box.
the dongle and mic are easily routed to where you want them from here. my dongle is stuck under the coin tray on a slopy bit of dash. out of sight but easy to use without stretching. the mic is in the usual place at the top of the door pillar.

they are easy to fit and can be done by yourself at home but as the price includes fitting why bother.
