TD5 Auto Gears and Lights

Hi all,

My issue are as follows and I am at your mercy:

The dash D and R indicators sometimes work, sometimes flash.
The red indicators near the gear shift sometime work or just blink.
Reverse gear takes some time to engage, if i leave in in reverse eventually is will go in. Foward gear seems fine.
The hill decent light illuminates sometimes, but it is not engaged.

I have checked the oil levels today and had them changed last year and the auto upshift seems fine. This appears to be electrical, but I am at the mercy of the knowledgable and would like some pointers to where to start next, or if there is a fix before I shell out a packet.

Thanks for this, I will try and locate it tommorow and post back with results.

Or it could be the loom that goes to the WXYZ switch rubbing through on the rear top edge of the transfer box.Equally it could be a lack of info from the engine ecu going to the gearbox ecu,a sensor shorting down to earth,engine loom rubbing through,throttle pedal pot failing,etc,etc.
Plenty or reasons,a short diagnostic session will give the answer.
