TD4 IRD DIY removal and replacement.

Hello All,

I'm about to embark on my first IRD replacement myself (and VCU) but after checking out the threads here I get the distinct impression that there are a few short cuts to be achieved as opposed to the description for removal as stated in the Haynes manual.

Could some kind soul either point me in the direction of an alternative document or perhaps just list the get arounds? i.e. removing the sub frame? I did read it here that this isn't always necessary etc. True????

Anyone help? I have got Hippo's excellent VCU explainantion from the How to section.
