TD4 hesitation

Every now and again, my 04 TD4 hesitates slightly at pulling away. Its never stalled yet but feels on the verge of doing so every now and then. This is not great as I live next to the A1 and have to cross to the middle and pull away from the middle in quick succession on a daily basis. I'm running out of spare pants as it does not happen all the time and catches both me and foreign lorry drivers unaware when it does. Any suggestions appreciated, maybe a Synergie 2 would sort it all out?

I would check all the usual suspects first, EGR, Air filter, PCV filter. I have a Synergy and whilst it has more power, (only use setting 1 or 2) it does use a bit more fuel and smokes a fraction more...

HI, I've a 2006 TD4 Auto with the same problem. Only done 23,000 so far.
Trouble is does not happen all the time and the main L/R dealer can't find the fault.
There's no set pattern as to when the problem happens.
Any help please, cos I'd love to tell the experts where to look.

This is my 2nd Freelander and 8th L/R car.

Sounds like it may be the MAF, try disconnecting the plug, if the fault decreases this could point to a faulty MAF.
