hi my partner has a 2003 td4 freelander and she says the car starts and drives fine but the battery light is flashing , this first started yesterday when she was driving along and went over a speed hump and all the dash lights came on and the speedo and rev counter lights dimmed then everything went back to normal. since then the battery light is flashing and there no other lights on the dash coming on apart from on start up which is normal. any ideas what this could be ? thanks
since this the car wouldnt start and was just making a clicking noise then dying but would start from a jump start so i fitted a new battery and it started first turn of the key but bttery light stays on the dash, the car now starts but if you turn engine off and go to start it back up nothing but the clicking noise happens again but if left 20 mins are so it will start but now i have noticed if your driving along and put the heater on all the lights on the dash come on and it runs like a bag of crap if you turn it off the lights go back off apart from the battery light which is now on constant , on trying to turn the car over i had a friend watch the engine and he says the alternator belt wasnt turning could this be the problem?
