I have a Freelander 1 3dr with the dreaded tailgate problems. They have been on and off ever since i've had it (2yrs) but up until now I've been able to reset and rectify the issues. Recently the tailgate stopped opening again but this time the window also stopped working along with the rear wiper. Disconnected the battery etc and the tailgate now opens again but the glass is not dropping nor will it open with the dash switch.
When I press the dash switch it bleeps but does nothing else, any ideas what the problem may be please?

Sounds like my recent tailgate nightmares - I ended up having a new regulator. Only problem was, the new one stopped working after three days! Its replacement seems to be OK over a week on though:D

3-doors do have a "roof on" switch or sensor, which I think can cause problems as well.

You might want to try putting the CCU into Self Test Mode. Do a search for that on here - there's a thread by a knowledgeable chap called Hippo who explains how to put it into Self Test and how to run each test. You should be able to test the door latch and window regulator via this method.

Thanks, i'll have a search.
I did try putting into test mode but couldn't seem to get it to work, did get the tailgate to open again but then the glass stopped dropping or being able to be opporated by the switch although when i press the button it clicks at the back as it there is power.

There is a knack to get it into test mode. You don't get 4secs to do it, more like 1s!

Do the self tests if you can. It should give you some pointers.

I'll have another go at the weekend and see what happens, just need to dig out the test mode instructions again.:(

It's all in Hippo's thread. And if you can't find it here, it's on the LRO forum as well. Also posted by someone called Hippo. I suspect it MAY be the same person...;)
