Tailgate locked - won't open

Just tried to open the back door from the outside and it refuses. The handle moves as it should. Unlocked manually from the inside and opened. Lubed everything I could see withn WD40 and fiddled with a little catch on the door. I now think it was a child safety lock because I am now unable to open it from inside or outside!

AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH is there no end to my woes?

Dunno? how can I get into it with it shut? I guess I'll have to take the door card off?

take the Landrover badge out of the rear door, push the handle down till it locates in its proper position, then pull it open
