Hi, I am having several problems with the tailgate on my 99 Freelander. When I got it the rear wiper didn't work (stuck in the up possition) which will be the motor, but now the rear window has stopped working and wont drop when I open the tailgate! Also the demister has also stopped working.
I took off the tailgate plastic pannel and looked at the regulator which looks as though the cable has snapped along the bottom running across to the n/s. Are new regulators easy to fit? and would this breaking cause the demister to stop working?

Thanks Carl.

Sorry jocarl011 not an answer but problems of my own vis-a-vis tailgate lock. I've done a seach and followed lots of threads but very very few mention the symptoms I am experiencing. Unlock on fob, window stays up, door stays locked. Lower window on internal switch, window goes down, door stays locked. Was going to disconnect battery this a.m. but the fault has gone (for now). Also pressing keyfob unlock for 2 secs and the window does not lower, this BYW is with the door unlocking normally. Could this be dodgy contacts on the ccu? If yes, is the ccu the one behind the fuse box on the drivers side?
