Synergy 2

YoYo all,

Finally got hold of a Synergy 2 after the one I purchased on fleebay went missing in the post, received a refund so no harm done.

Anyway, running a standard MAF sensor and when I turn it above 3 the engine sounds like it has no oil all noisy and engine knock, its now set at no2 and sound ok.

But I can say by god it goes like a bloody rocket, plenty of pull and well pleased.

So question......

Why does it sound like engine knock when its turned up and will a Pierburgh sensor help or make things better?

Maybe your injectors are a little worn or dirty.

Nothing to worry about it's just the result of the increase in fuelling causing greater more rapid expansion above the piston, that's where the power comes from. The more you increase fuelling the harsher the engine will sound. Just like it does during very cold starts.

So if I stick it on No4 and the engine sounds like a tractor, is there any harm being done to the engine/is it safe.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of the knocking sound?

No the diesel knock is the detonation of the fuel not a metallic knock.

Unless you had no oil pressure and a fecked crank.

Edit.... actually, thinking on, using millers in the fuel will reduce the knock a bit.

I run millers constantly which must be why I've never had any issues.

Yup - Millers in ours too and very little knocking.
Only using 1 for normal running - got the switch fingy for another setting for towing.
Not tried that yet tho'
