The brake light switch is on the bracket above the foot pedal...

Incidentley the white 2 pin switch is actually round ( also fits LDV vans, I think), has a plastic insert in it to fit a square hole

You have to hold the pedal down slightly and undo the nut ...
tis a pain but do-able...

its not a white 2 pin one its a black 4 pin one as its for a disco with abs,

so is there a nut on the back of it?

I did mine a few months back it was a bitch to get out I ended up breaking it off, I removed the wires etc first then just forced it.
The new one just clipped in, I am 99% sure no nuts are involved.

Mines a 97 model with abs.

I only found out it had gone after some bloke gave me lots of verble after nearly hitting me up the backside.
