Strange noise when steering

Hi All,

I have a strange creaking sound coming from my 02 TD5.

It only appears at low speeds and when I am turning corners.

I have attached a video with the noise, any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the pump could be on it's way, or low on fluid, or air in the system.

Can you get some else to turn wheel while you look more closely to locate noise

Mine does that when parking at low speed.
Previous owner had a pump fitted sometime, weak steering pump or aftermarket in my case I imagine.

I have had a look and looks like a mess of oil has been dripping out onto the floor.

Better to just take out and replace??

well at least it’s progress, have you located the leak , pump or hose or fitting

Mine had a leak from the reservoir, did up the clip and job done.
Not being funny but you have located the pump and not the box?

Thank you found the pump.

I will take the pipeline out and see if it is a faulty seal.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what fluid brand/specs i should use?

Any good quality ATF Dexron 3 will be fine. People also use central hydraulic fluid which seems to be fine as well. The Land Rover part number is STC50519
